Water is indispensable for the functioning of the human body, however, did you know how much it really is important for us?

Water makes up 55 to 60 percent of an adult body, depending on the place of life, body weight, age and sex. In babies the percentage of water in the body is even higher and is 75 percent, but this percentage decreases to 65 percent to the first year of life.

Without water we can only have a few days, and even without food for a long time, several weeks. You are probably also aware that water is more than half the body weight of every man, it makes up more than 80% of muscle and nerve tissue and brain!

Water in the human body is used to better work the joints, lubricating them and allowing them to flex, regulating the body weight and feeding the brain and spinal cord. It contains not only blood but also all the other organs in the body. For example, the heart and brain make 1/3 water, lungs 83%, and bones are 31 percent of water.

The man loses up to three liters of water per day through sweat, urinating and faeces, which needs to be compensated. Because of this, hydration is extremely important. Depending on the constitution, gender, and place of living, there is also a need for water. So men are recommended to drink between 2.5 and 3.7 liters of water per day, while for women this amount is smaller and is 2 to 2.7 liters.

Daily we lose about 2 to 4 l of water, so the daily intake should be 2 l, which is about 8 glasses. We have to drink it because of energy (the body always loses liquidity, even while we are sleeping, so we can feel a sense of weakness), because of the maintenance of the body line and the faster metabolism, which are definitely connected to the skin …

But how do we create the habit of constantly consuming water? Not by drinking it all at once, that wouldn’t benefit us a lot.

These few tips will certainly motivate you and help you create this habit.

• One glass after waking up – activates the work of internal organs.
• One half an hour pre-meal – it helps chewing.
• Before bathing – lowers blood pressure.
• One before going to bed – prevents brain and heart attacks.

And, you’ve already drink 6 glasses this way, assuming that you have three meals a day. In pauses, on the road from home to work you drink another 2 – 3 and you hydrated your body.

Here are some ideas for this:

• Stop the break if you often sit, walk and take a glass of water, hydrate your body, and boost your circulation and ease your thrill from sitting.
• Always carry a bottle of water with you.
• Take fruit with high liquid content.
During training, it is also necessary to hydrate the body, not only because of the sweating but also for cooling. It is best to have about 250 ml of water half an hour before training  to make the muscles ready for action. During exercise, it is best to drink 1 dl of water every 15 minutes.

Also, it is best to cool it to 10 degrees, because the body will be easier to absorb than the water temperature. When we finish exercising, especially if there was a lot of effort, we need to walk and drink in small swallows.
